Access and Equity Policy

Nationwide Academy is committed to providing equal opportunity and quality training to all students, regardless of background, ability, or circumstances. We believe everyone deserves access to training and support.

Reasonable Adjustment

What is a reasonable adjustment? It’s a change we make to how we deliver training so you can participate fairly and equally, regardless of any barriers you might face.

Examples of reasonable adjustments include:

Extended time for assessments
Large print or audio formats for learning materials
Sign language interpreter or captioning
Flexible class times or one-to-one support
Adjusted online platform settings for accessibility
Referrals to external support services

How to request a reasonable adjustment:

Support Services

We offer support to help you succeed:

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) support
If you need help with basic skills, we can provide this during your course or refer you to specialists
External referrals
We can connect you with disability support services, counselling, or other help you might need
Flexible learning options
We deliver training via Moodle (online), Microsoft Teams (live sessions), and face-to-face at our Fitzroy location

Accessibility of Our Learning Platforms

Moodle (Learning Management System)

Our Moodle platform is designed to be accessible. If you experience any difficulties, let us know and we’ll help.

Microsoft Teams

We use Teams for live online sessions. It includes accessibility features like live captioning and audio descriptions. Tell us if you need additional support during sessions.

Accessibility of Our Venues

Our training location at Suite 4.34, 425 Smith Street, Fitzroy VIC 3065 is accessible. If you have mobility or other access requirements, please contact us in advance so we can ensure everything is arranged.

Raising Equity Concerns

If you believe you’ve been treated unfairly or discriminated against, or if you have concerns about access and equity, please contact our Compliance Manager:

All concerns will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly. You can also lodge a formal complaint through our Complaints and Appeals process.
